A quick, budget-friendly pasta dish using jarred tomato sauce and melted cheese. Perfect for weeknight family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 pound spaghetti
- 24 ounce jarred tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Steps
- Fill a large pot with water and add 1 teaspoon salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Once water is boiling, add spaghetti and stir well. Cook according to package directions (usually 8-10 minutes) until al dente.
- While pasta cooks, heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Pour in the 24 ounces of jarred tomato sauce and stir well.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer the sauce for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Drain the cooked pasta in a colander and return to the pot.
- Pour the tomato sauce over the drained pasta and toss gently to coat all noodles.
- Add 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese and 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese to the pasta. Toss gently until cheese begins to melt.
- Divide pasta among 4 bowls or plates and serve immediately.
