Delicate green beans coated in a silky butter sauce infused with fresh tarragon and tangy-sweet balsamic glaze enriched with caramelized shallots. An elegant yet simple side dish that pairs beautifully with any protein.
Ingredients
- 8 ounce green beans, blanched and cut
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 2 shallot, minced
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon fresh tarragon, chopped
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
- 0.125 teaspoon black pepper
Steps
- Mince 2 shallots and chop the fresh tarragon. Have all ingredients measured and ready.
- Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it foams and becomes fragrant.
- Add the minced shallots and sauté for 2-3 minutes until golden and caramelized, stirring frequently.
- Pour in 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar and let it simmer for 30 seconds, allowing it to reduce slightly and glaze the shallots.
- Add the blanched green beans to the skillet, tossing gently with a wooden spoon to coat them in the butter, balsamic glaze, and caramelized shallots. Cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped fresh tarragon, salt, and black pepper.
- Divide the green beans and shallot-balsamic glaze evenly between two plates. Serve immediately while hot.
