Delicate green beans coated in a silky butter sauce infused with fresh tarragon and tangy-sweet balsamic glaze enriched with caramelized shallots. An elegant yet simple side dish that pairs beautifully with any protein.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounce green beans, blanched and cut
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 shallot, minced
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh tarragon, chopped
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon black pepper

Steps

  1. Mince 2 shallots and chop the fresh tarragon. Have all ingredients measured and ready.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it foams and becomes fragrant.
  3. Add the minced shallots and sauté for 2-3 minutes until golden and caramelized, stirring frequently.
  4. Pour in 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar and let it simmer for 30 seconds, allowing it to reduce slightly and glaze the shallots.
  5. Add the blanched green beans to the skillet, tossing gently with a wooden spoon to coat them in the butter, balsamic glaze, and caramelized shallots. Cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped fresh tarragon, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Divide the green beans and shallot-balsamic glaze evenly between two plates. Serve immediately while hot.
