Classic chocolate chip cookies spiked with Jim Beam bourbon for a sophisticated, grown-up treat. Perfectly chewy with crispy edges.
Ingredients
- 1.33 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 0.5 cup butter, at room temperature
- 0.5 cup granulated sugar
- 0.5 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon bourbon
- 1.5 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Place flour, kosher salt, baking powder, and baking soda on a sheet of wax paper. Use a fork to stir and sift to remove lumps.
- Attach the mixing paddle to a stand mixer and add the butter to the bowl. Turn on high speed until the butter is fluffy, about 1 to 2 minutes.
- With the mixer still running on high, gradually add the granulated sugar and dark brown sugar. Continue beating for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Reduce mixer speed to medium-low and add the egg. Mix until well blended.
- Add the vanilla extract and beat until combined.
- With mixer on low speed, slowly add the dry ingredients and mix until barely combined. Stop and use a spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Add the bourbon and chocolate chips, mixing on low until just incorporated.
- Remove bowl from mixer. Using your hands, roll cookie dough into 1-inch balls and place on the parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. About 12 cookies will fit on a standard-sized baking sheet.
- Place one baking sheet in the oven on the middle rack and bake for 12 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool on the baking sheet. Repeat with the second batch.
