Homemade Waffle Batter
Breakfast
EASY
Light, fluffy homemade waffle batter with a perfect golden-brown exterior and tender interior. Ready to cook fresh waffles for breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1.75 cup whole milk
- 4 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- In a separate bowl, crack the eggs and beat them until well combined.
- Pour milk into the egg mixture and whisk until fully blended.
- Stir the melted butter and vanilla extract into the milk-egg mixture.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently fold together until just combined; some small lumps are acceptable and will result in fluffier waffles.
- Let the batter rest for 5 minutes before using; this allows the baking powder to activate and creates lighter waffles.
- The batter is now ready to cook in a preheated waffle iron according to your iron's instructions.
