Light, fluffy homemade waffle batter with a perfect golden-brown exterior and tender interior. Ready to cook fresh waffles for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1.75 cup whole milk
  • 4 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, crack the eggs and beat them until well combined.
  3. Pour milk into the egg mixture and whisk until fully blended.
  4. Stir the melted butter and vanilla extract into the milk-egg mixture.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently fold together until just combined; some small lumps are acceptable and will result in fluffier waffles.
  6. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes before using; this allows the baking powder to activate and creates lighter waffles.
  7. The batter is now ready to cook in a preheated waffle iron according to your iron's instructions.
