Soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies with crispy edges, loaded with melted chocolate chips and a hint of vanilla. A timeless American treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ounce unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, beat the softened butter with the granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Mix in the vanilla extract until combined.
  7. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  8. Fold in the chocolate chips with a wooden spoon or spatula until evenly distributed.
  9. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  10. Bake for 11-13 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers still appear slightly underdone.
  11. Remove baking sheets from the oven and let cookies rest on the pans for 2 minutes.
  12. Transfer cookies to a wire rack or plate to cool completely before serving.
